3-Flavor Tasting Set

Three pouches. One sitting. The Degawaen 3-Flavor Tasting Set is the easiest way to meet Sayama tea: Akane, Yumeha, and Karen, packed in Iruma, Japan and sent from the U.S.

Sayama is grown farther north than most Japanese tea. The leaves come in thick, and the traditional Sayama fire-finish gives the cup a deep, toasted sweetness instead of a light, grassy sip. This set puts three of Degawaen’s garden teas side by side so you can taste the difference without committing to a full tin.

Akane (あかね). Named for the red glow of dawn. A round, easy cup, with the warmth Sayama is known for.

Yumeha (ゆめ葉). “Dream leaf.” Softer and a little sweeter, the one to pour for someone new to Japanese green tea.

Karen (香れん). The fragrant one. More aroma up front, still backed by the same thick-leaf body.

Brew each the same way, one after the other, and the character of the garden shows up on its own. A good first order, and an easy gift.
